Hankook Tire's mobility subculture brand DRIVE has unveiled 'Scent of Skid,' a collaborative project with renowned tattoo artist MIRAE. The project dissolves the boundaries between automotive culture and tattoo artistry, reinterpreting the roaring liberation of engines and the heated traces of tire skid marks through MIRAE's distinctive visual language. A leading figure in Korea's tattoo scene, MIRAE transforms the supercar into a monumental canvas, engraving his tattoo philosophy directly onto its surface.
At the center of the exhibition, opening April 17 at the Candy Seongsu building, stands the iconic Ford GT supercar. MIRAE performs live tattoo work on the vehicle's body, translating abstract sensations of speed and liberation into concrete visual narratives. The graphics carved onto the chassis transcend mere decoration, metaphorically capturing the primal freedom and dynamism experienced on the open road.
Alongside the exhibition, a car diffuser translates the memory of acceleration into an immersive olfactory experience. It recreates the heated scent of tire friction against asphalt and the raw energy emitted by roaring engines, expanding the mobility experience into a multi-sensory realm.
