Nik Bentel Studio moves everyday objects into unfamiliar places. The Pasta Bag, a Barilla penne box carried over intact, sold out immediately and put the studio on the map. What followed was just as absurd: an RC car in the shape of a bag that actually drives, a wallet modeled on the Apple folder icon, a DJ mixer bag. Now they've translated an iPhone box into a clutch. Nik Bentel, who studied architecture, opened the New York studio in 2017. The team is now six members strong.
