Fantasy Made Flesh: Econbot's Wearable Worldbuilding

현실이 된 판타지, Econbot의 위어러블 월드빌딩

Medieval castles, knight's armor, dragons—elements that once existed only in games and fantasy novels are now walking the streets as wearable fashion. British designer Charlie Arnott's brand Econbot brings RPG character customization into the real world, allowing wearers to become protagonists of their own fantasy narratives. His work is less clothing and more 'wearable worldbuilding.'

Arnott's design philosophy began with visits to medieval castles in England at the age of three. Drawing from fantasy universes including The Elder Scrolls: Skyrim, The Lord of the Rings, Dungeons & Dragons, and Warhammer, he extends childhood imaginative play into hand-crafted objects. Shoulder-mounted castle sculptures and armor details layered onto everyday wear function as 'wearable sculpture' that transcends mere costume. Each piece is intentionally crafted by hand, echoing the deliberate ritual of casting a spell.

Arnott defines his practice as "RPG character customization in real life," emphasizing that the process—each stitch imbued with intention—is as important as the final form. Econbot's universe dissolves the boundaries between fashion and gaming, reality and fantasy, granting wearers the authority to script their own narratives. We're already anticipating what the next chapter will bring.
