Geneva-based designer Omar Amor is drawing attention in the fashion world with wearable art made from discarded earphones. He macraméd 750 wired earphones together to complete a single garment piece. The cables are woven like thread, while the earbuds and plugs dangle naturally like fringe, creating a unique texture and movement.
This work is part of Amor's second-year master's collection, a project that extends from dresses to coats, vests, and bags. By asking the fundamental question "What can clothes be made of?", he reinterprets electronic waste—a modern societal headache—as raw material for fashion.
