JISOO released the second pre-release single from her first full-length album at 8 a.m. KST today. The new track, "ADDICTED," arrives one month after her first pre-release, "CLICK." "ADDICTED" captures the feeling of a love that is both sweet and dizzying. It sings of a heart that keeps being pulled in until it has fallen deep before it knows it. The intro opens with a crack of lightning, leaving a powerful first impression.
Wide-ranging vocals gliding over a punchy beat grab your ears from the start. If "CLICK" traced an instinctive attraction through elegant, calm vocals, this time she has chosen a deeper and more intense mood. The two songs share a theme but take completely different approaches. Placed side by side, they reveal the full spectrum of emotion JISOO can express.
The pre-release strategy is part of a phased rollout leading up to the full album. Each song shows a different texture, building anticipation step by step. "ADDICTED" is the second step and another piece of the narrative the album will tell. Once the full album drops, it will be interesting to see how these tracks fit into the larger story.
The visuals have deepened as much as the music. In the teaser video, JISOO stares into the camera with intense eyes under dim lighting. Like the title "ADDICTED" suggests, the atmosphere is one you cannot escape once you fall in. Are you already falling deeper, waiting to see what JISOO will show next before the album arrives?
