On August 24, JENNIE unveiled a set of cinematic concept photos alongside the announcement of her physical EP [Fallen Angel]. The visuals evoke the mood of a classic film, shot in black and white with bursts of vivid red and cinematic subtitles. In one frame, JENNIE gazes directly at the camera in a velvet cloche hat and pearl necklace, channeling the aesthetic of 1920s silent cinema. Captions like 'i'm searching for a love' and 'Coming to you Friday' scroll across the images, mimicking vintage title cards. The visual direction, created in collaboration with Odd Atelier, recreates the look and feel of old film posters and interstitial frames.
The physical EP includes six tracks: 'FALLEN ANGEL,' 'Less than a Lover,' 'sweettooth,' 'lockitdown,' 'Face,' and 'HEAVEN.' Three of these tracks — 'sweettooth,' 'lockitdown,' and 'Face' — are exclusive to the physical edition. 'Face' will be heard for the first time on this release. The digital EP [Fallen Angel] drops on August 28 at 1 PM KST, while pre-orders for the physical edition open on August 26 at 11 AM KST.
Each slide in the carousel hints at a different narrative arc. Scenes shift between black-and-white and color, feature romantic rose motifs, and capture JENNIE looking through glass panes. She moves through period costumes: a white lace dress, a red silk robe, pearl bracelets, and opera gloves. Different textures and lighting setups define each visual. The subtitle 'wherever we land is where we turn into a home' offers a glimpse into the EP's emotional tone.
JENNIE has been building her solo career with digital singles like 'Mantra' and 'Zen.' [Fallen Angel] marks her first physical EP and her most expansive project to date. The title track 'FALLEN ANGEL' was previously released digitally; the physical edition adds three previously unheard tracks. What scene will JENNIE reveal next in this cinematic chapter?
