Installation artist Do Ho Suh opens his large-scale solo exhibition, Do Ho Suh, at the National Museum of Modern and Contemporary Art, Seoul, on August 27, 2026. Running through February 9, 2027, the exhibition features around 500 works, including pieces being shown in Korea for the first time. Visitors will encounter iconic works such as Perfect Home, a layered installation crafted from translucent fabric and stitching, and Loving/Loving: Seoul Home, a paper house recreated by hand-rubbing the surfaces of a traditional hanok in Seongbuk-dong. The exhibition offers a rare chance to witness the artist's exploration of space, past and present, gathered in one place.

Suh's practice begins with architecture and moves toward smaller enclosures. His gaze extends beyond monumental structures to clothing, the most intimate shell we inhabit. Clothing is the first home that wraps the body, and a home is another skin surrounding us. He dissolves the boundary between the two, asking new questions about space itself.

Perfect Home, built from layers of translucent fabric, stacks memories of multiple places into one. The fabric lets light through, and the stitching holds memory in place. Loving/Loving: Seoul Home, made by hand-rubbing a hanok in Seongbuk-dong, captures warmth on paper through tactile recording rather than physical replication. These works do not merely represent space; they question how we experience it.

The exhibition takes place at MMCA Seoul and continues through next February. Five hundred works make this a rare opportunity to encounter Do Ho Suh's artistic world in depth. His practice goes beyond installation, redefining the spaces we inhabit and how we exist within them.
