Central Saint Martins second-year student SinTheology (@no_way_i_am_gonna_cry) is pioneering a unique design philosophy that transforms invisible sound into visible, tangible form. By utilizing sound frequencies and hertz, she creates distinctive outlines and structures that expand auditory experiences into visual and tactile dimensions.
Her work incorporates actual music equipment components—speaker cones, knobs, and buttons—into garments, achieving a mechanical yet high-tech aesthetic. Her recent look features large speakers mounted on translucent materials, balancing functionality with futuristic sensibility. The addition of sailor collars and striped details creates a dialogue between uniform-like elements and technological experimentation.
Beyond formal experimentation, SinTheology's designs externalize deep emotions and memories stored within the body. For her, sound functions as a medium to reveal personal identity and connect with the external world. Her practice explores the relationship between inner feelings and the surrounding environment, offering new ways to express and understand the self.
Working at the intersection of technology and aesthetics, her designs embody profound reflections on how sound, body, and identity interact. As she continues her studies at CSM, SinTheology demonstrates that fashion can serve as both an extension of the senses and a language of self-expression.
