Seoul-based concept store Casestudy is launching a collaborative sneaker with adidas Originals on January 15, reinterpreting traditional Korean aesthetics through a contemporary lens. Built on the Stan Smith low-profile silhouette, the design centers on white and jade colorways inspired by the refined palette of hanbok, Korea's traditional attire.
The devil is in the details. Beyond standard laces, the package includes silk ribbon laces in jade and ivory, alongside a jade charm inspired by norigae, a traditional Korean ornamental tassel. The inclusion of a coordinating shoe bag elevates the sneaker from footwear into a styled object, offering expanded possibilities for personal customization and creative expression.
This collaboration represents a meaningful intersection of Korean cultural identity and global sportswear heritage. Priced at KRW 179,000, the sneaker will be available at Casestudy's flagship store and online channels. With the rising "sneaker styling" trend among Gen Z consumers, the release is expected to generate significant interest in both domestic and international markets.
