The Hermès Birkin isn't a bag you can simply buy because you want one. Word is, you have to build up a purchase history and wait out the waiting list before your turn finally comes. Rojas skipped the wait with a printer. Even without a real Birkin, the pose of holding one remains.

Rojas continues her work incorporating printed bags and printed clothing as styling elements. On her Instagram, not only the A4 Birkin but various printed items appear. It's just a sheet of paper, but the pose and attitude are completed as if holding a real Birkin. The boundary between what is real and what is fake blurs.

Can a paper bag replace a luxury bag? At least in photographs, it can. Rojas's project makes us rethink the relationship between ownership, display, and image. Whether the law of attraction works for Birkins and Chanel remains to be seen, but it certainly attracts attention.

Would you walk down the street holding an A4 Birkin?
