Metal becomes fabric. The chainmail series from Melbourne-based label Catholic Guilt is completed by hand, linking thousands, sometimes hundreds of thousands, of stainless steel rings one by one. Designer Ella Jackson has developed proprietary tailoring techniques that do not exist in traditional chainmail, and a single piece can take anywhere from hundreds to thousands of hours to complete. This extreme manual labor and self-invented weaving method form the label's most powerful signature.
