While luxury makeup aims to smooth and perfect the skin, Margarita Art layers clay, wire, and keyboard parts across the face. Based in Paris, this self-described 'punk makeup artist' studied jewellery before translating sculptural language onto the body. For her, makeup is not a technique of decoration but a tool for reconstructing the body and identity. Masks that obscure the eyes and mouth, small objects that seem to multiply across the skin, and discarded materials collected from everyday life turn familiar faces into unfamiliar beings. Her goal is not refined beauty, but the transformation of materials and the disruption of aesthetic norms.
Her work extends into wearable art, moving freely between makeup, sculpture, and fashion. The face is no longer a given condition, but a temporary space where new identities can emerge.
