Between Lies and Memory, Rubie's Chaotic Poetic Fashion

With the belief that truth should never stand in the way of a good story, designer Rubie (@je_suis_rubie) has unveiled her bachelor's final collection titled 'Je me souviens' (I remember). Drawing inspiration from the art of storytelling, lying, and manipulation, the collection poses a fundamental question about memory: is it what we actually remember or what we choose to recall that truly matters?

Rubie's grandfather, who suffered from dementia, used to share many confabulated stories with her. This deeply personal experience became the collection's core narrative, manifesting in a chaotic yet poetic fashion story that navigates between angels, shotguns, hunters, and illusions. The gray quilted vest, red tartan check, and voluminous skirt entangled with dried flowers and tulle create a surreal aesthetic that mirrors fragmented memories colliding.

This collection transcends mere garments to become a homage to all fable makers. Rubie blurs the boundaries between truth and fiction, weaving personal memory and collective narrative into one grand fabrication. It proves that fashion can be more than clothing—it can be a medium for emotion, memory, and imagination.
