Designer Mattias Gollin has unveiled a custom Timberland design celebrating the brand's 50th anniversary, transforming the iconic work boot into a fairytale-inspired art piece. The design features an elaborate overlay of pearls, crystals, and a detachable wooden Timberland logo cage that creates an entirely new aesthetic vocabulary for the heritage brand.

Gollin drew inspiration from Pharrell Williams' debut collection for Louis Vuitton, translating the luxury house's opulent aesthetic into the rugged world of workwear. The boot's surface is densely covered with white and silver-tone pearls that evoke the texture of snow-capped mountains, while the laser-cut wooden cage at the top creates a dynamic, flame-like silhouette that's both sculptural and functional.

This isn't the first time Timberland has entered high fashion territory, but Gollin's approach respects the brand's heritage while pushing it into art-piece territory. The fusion of practicality and artistry in custom footwear continues to be a relevant trend, blurring the lines between streetwear and luxury fashion.

Since launching its first waterproof boot in 1973, Timberland has spent five decades as an icon of functional footwear. Gollin's work demonstrates how this classic item can serve as a canvas for contemporary artistic expression, proving that even the most utilitarian designs can be elevated into wearable sculpture.
