Hodakova Turns Furniture Into Fashion

호다코바, 집 안의 가구를 입다

Swedish emerging designer Ellen Hodakova Larsson's brand Hodakova is redefining contemporary luxury by proving the viability of the world's first 100% upcycling business model. Following its 2024 LVMH Prize win, the brand has become one of the most closely watched names for its simultaneous commitment to sustainability and creativity.

The FW26 collection centers on the theme of 'Home.' Hodakova brought one of the most intimate spaces we encounter daily onto the runway. Living room rugs were transformed into skirts, and vintage armchairs became dresses. Furniture textiles and sofa tapestries serve as garment materials, giving everyday objects new life and narrative.

What Hodakova presents is not mere recycling. It is a process of reinterpreting discarded objects and inherited materials through the lens of design, translating them into the language of luxury fashion. This approach proves that environmental responsibility and aesthetic excellence can coexist. It goes beyond offering an alternative to fast fashion, posing essential questions about the true role of fashion itself.

As the slogan 'Wear the Room' suggests, Hodakova reminds us that what we wear is not simply clothing, but an act of layering memory, space, and time. In an era when sustainability is no longer optional but essential, Hodakova offers one of the most compelling and persuasive visions for the future of fashion.
