LILAC — Cover

LILAC

A sculptural headpiece built from hundreds of ruffled layers in orange and cream floats against a powder-blue ground, transforming the human head into an architectural bloom. The gathered textile petals cascade in waves of coral, peach, and pale ivory, their ridged edges catching light like the gills of a sea creature or the folds of a mid-century paper lampshade. Below, a sheer pink knit dress clings to the body in fine ribbed texture, paired with lilac-toned tights that extend the colour story from warm coral down through cool lavender. The figure reclines on a seamless studio floor, one leg stretched long in a dancer's repose, while the unchanging sky-blue backdrop erases all context beyond silhouette and hue. This is not portraiture but a study in chromatic transition and material volume, where fabric becomes sculpture and the body becomes a vessel for color itself.
