Ethereal Essence — Cover

Ethereal Essence

Against flat fields of colour that evoke mid-century colour-field painting, the body becomes a sculptural presence in its own right. A pale olive-yellow expanse frames a crouched pose, punctuated by a white polka-dot handbag with bold black spots that act as the composition's focal accent. The posture is severely restrained, and that restraint amplifies intensity — long box braids and a wash of lavender eyeshadow lend an otherworldly luminosity to the face. A third frame dissolves the figure entirely into a red monochrome field, wrapping torso and trousers in matching crimson suiting that merges silhouette with ground. Featuring the work of Carla Fuster, Barahona Claudia Rios, Carla Lourenco, Jordi Gilabert, and Mariama, the editorial strips fashion down to colour, contour, and a kind of purist essentialism. What remains is not garment but presence.
