What If Movies Were PS1 Games?

Whiplash, The Truman Show, Home Alone, Akira. Familiar scenes from beloved films are reborn as 1990s PlayStation games.

Whiplash, The Truman Show, Home Alone, Akira. Familiar scenes from beloved films are reborn as 1990s PlayStation games. Colombian 3D artist FersetiD transforms iconic moments from cinema, animation, and pop culture into low-resolution textures and angular low-poly graphics. Since teaching himself Blender in 2023, he has recreated the awkward movements, rough lighting, and subtitles characteristic of old-school games, turning films into cutscenes that feel like they actually existed.

What makes his work compelling is that it goes beyond simple imitation. FersetiD's creations don't just mimic PS1 graphics but fully capture the unique sensibility and atmosphere of that era. In an age racing toward higher resolutions and photorealistic graphics, he deliberately reduces pixels and simplifies forms. As technology advances, why do we keep returning to the imperfect graphics of the past? What form does nostalgia take for you?
