Valentino Garavani Honored with Official Italian Commemorative Coin

The Italian government has issued an official commemorative coin honoring fashion designer Valentino Garavani. Released on May 11 to coincide with his birthday, the coin was created by the Italian Ministry of Economy and Finance in collaboration with the Italian State Mint (IPZS). Available in both 50-euro gold and 5-euro silver editions, the coin symbolizes Garavani's contribution to promoting Italian culture and craftsmanship on the global stage.

Valentino Garavani, who founded Maison Valentino in 1959, is widely regarded as one of couture's most influential designers. He left an indelible mark on fashion through his signature Valentino Red, timeless silhouettes, and refined elegance. Giancarlo Giammetti, Garavani's longtime partner and business collaborator, expressed his emotion over the tribute, calling it a deeply symbolic recognition of the designer's contributions to style and culture.
