Tsukasa Kudo Documents the Vulnerability of Masculinity

쿠도 츠카사, 남성성의 취약함을 기록하다

Photographer Tsukasa Kudo (@tsukasakudophotography) captures the male body without reducing it to consumption. With a career shaped by global fashion houses like Jacquemus and JW Anderson, Kudo applies a refined visual language to reinterpret masculinity. In his work, men are not symbols of strength or display, but complex beings where anxiety, tension, and subtle emotion coexist.

His photography precisely captures the tension between body and garment, the space in between. Though trained in the grammar of fashion imagery, Kudo focuses not on commercial aesthetics but on intimate, private moments. His statement—that photography records a landscape shared only between two people—reveals the essence of his practice.

A recently released image exemplifies his philosophy. Shot in the private setting of a bathroom, the male figure seen from behind is both defensive and exposed. It refuses traditional masculine imagery—strength, dominance, confidence—and instead foregrounds vulnerability and quietness. Drawing on his fashion-industry expertise, Tsukasa Kudo is charting a new territory in male representation.
