Thai Brand Turns Plain White Tees Into Bizarre Sculptures

흰 티셔츠를 괴상한 조각으로 만드는 태국 브랜드

An ordinary white T-shirt is being transformed into bizarre sculptural garments. GROFE, founder of Thai streetwear brand IWANNABANGKOK, is deconstructing and reassembling the most basic wardrobe staple—the white tee—to build a distinctly surreal fashion language. From T-shirts fused with scarf-like fabric panels to pieces integrated with beanies, gloves, and apron-inspired structures, his designs layer uncanny imagination onto familiar silhouettes.

His work transcends mere clothing design, functioning more as a visual expression of Bangkok's underground culture. Queer club scenes, local street energy, DIY aesthetics, and internet meme culture collide to create forms that feel simultaneously absurd and strangely addictive. The intentionally exaggerated and twisted shapes grant wearers a new sense of physicality, pushing fashion into the realm of performance art.

GROFE's experiment in creating the strangest aesthetics from the most mundane item is now recognized as one of the most intriguing movements in Asia's current streetwear scene. Operating at a distance from commercial trends and dismantling fashion's boundaries through his own visual vocabulary, his work will be worth watching closely in the years to come.
