PAP Magazine has launched PAP Beauty, a new platform dedicated to spotlighting innovative beauty creators, unveiling its first collaboration with makeup artist Ginevra Calie. This project draws inspiration from insect camouflage in nature, realized as an original beauty editorial themed around flowers and sea creatures.
"Just as insects mimic flowers to blend in with the environment in which they hunt, I wanted to use the flowers themselves—their colors and textures, broken down and reassembled—to extend the outwardness of the subjects into something that gives the same impression of oneness with nature," Calie explained. She has spent years fascinated by insects' colors and shapes that faithfully recall natural elements, translating this fascination into makeup artistry.
Photographed by Andy Olive and fashion-directed by Naz Kisnisci for the beauty projects, this work marks the inaugural edition of PAP Beauty's monthly creator spotlight series. The platform will provide talented artists in the beauty world with opportunities to express their creativity through exclusive, original projects commissioned by PAP Magazine.
