Ottolinger Turns Daily Performance into Fashion at Paris FW25

오뜰링거, 일상의 퍼포먼스를 패션으로 승화하다

At Paris Fashion Week FW25, Ottolinger's Christa Bösch and Cosima Gadient offered a fresh perspective on "performance." Rather than focusing on strength, speed, and agility, the duo explored the daily performances we enact from morning to night—the way we dress, present ourselves, and navigate the world. From starting the day in underwear to throwing on something quick for a grocery run, every act became a staged moment in their philosophical vision.

The show's soundtrack reinforced this concept through an internal monologue of a model, further emphasizing the philosophy of performance as lived experience. The collection featured a deconstructivist approach with tailored jackets cinched at the waist to create a basque silhouette, biker blousons crafted from felted wool bonded with scuba fabric, dresses with deconstructed mesh prints, and overdyed denim with exposed pockets revealing the original fabric beneath. Padded details exaggerated shoulders and hips, subtly questioning the gap between how we are perceived and how we wish to be seen.

Ottolinger's signature shapewear was also reimagined for the season. Bodysuits and leggings were layered and deconstructed in their signature style, baring collarbones and midriffs in unexpected ways that challenged conventional notions of exposure. Sharp-eyed attendees may have noticed hints of a collaboration, as Skims labels—Kim Kardashian's shapewear brand—were discreetly spotted throughout the collection. By transforming the idea of everyday life as performance into fashion, Ottolinger once again broke down stylistic boundaries, offering a provocative and thought-provoking vision for the season ahead.
