Garment designer and project initiator Jiang YuHao and photographer Xiang ShouJu have unveiled the MOMOKO Dolls Project. Known for their remarkably lifelike proportions and dedicated following, MOMOKO Dolls are transformed into stylish muses through the artists' meticulous touch.
To some, dolls may be nothing more than toys that evoke nostalgia. To others, they can be a source of healing and a driving force in life. For Jiang YuHao, who struggled with insomnia and feelings of loss, and Xiang ShouJu, who wandered through a period of uncertainty, MOMOKO Dolls became a creative anchor during life's darkest nights. For these two artists adrift, the small figures offered a reason to move forward again.
The duo dresses MOMOKO Dolls in their own custom designs and photographs them with delicate lighting and composition, creating images that resemble full fashion editorials. The dolls' expressions, poses, and garment details are executed with a level of precision that rivals actual model shoots. This is why the project functions not as simple doll photography, but as an independent fashion endeavor in its own right.
