Krystal of f(x) is making her official solo comeback after 11 years. Her debut solo single 'Solitary' will be released on November 27, with pre-orders opening on the 13th. This marks her return to music since her 2016 mini-album, signaling a new chapter in her artistic journey.
A key highlight is her collaboration with American indie musician Toro y Moi. The behind-the-scenes documentary 'Charging Crystals,' released via the BANA (Beasts and Natives) YouTube channel, captures the creative process across London, Jeju, and San Francisco. Krystal absorbed the distinct sensibilities of each city, weaving them into a sound uniquely her own.
True to its title, 'Solitary' carries a quiet yet resolute energy. After a long silence, her voice emerges with the delicate precision of light collected from darkness. This represents a brave pivot from K-pop idol to independent solo artist, embracing vulnerability and self-definition.
Already established as a fashion icon, Krystal is now exploring her musical identity in earnest. November 27 marks the first sentence of a story only she can tell—and the world is listening.
