Designer JiyongKim, invited as a special guest at the 110th edition of Pitti Uomo, presented his unique vision in Florence. Choosing an exhibition format over a traditional runway show, he artistically expressed the traces time leaves on garments through his signature sun-bleaching technique. This presentation, closer to installation art than a fashion show, offered a fresh approach to fashion and temporality.
The centerpiece was a large-scale installation documenting the transformation of a coat as it faded naturally over 100 days of sun exposure. This work visualized the intersection where controlled design meets natural serendipity, most intuitively revealing JiyongKim's philosophy of 'garments that wear time.' The coats displayed at different stages of bleaching created an impression akin to unfolding a spectrum of time itself.
The second PUMA collaboration sneaker, the Cell Geo 1, was also unveiled. Presented alongside the new season collection, this sneaker represents the fusion of JiyongKim's experimental sensibility with PUMA's sports heritage. The exhibition has been recognized as proof of how a Korean designer can redefine fashion with a distinctive language on one of the world's most prestigious menswear platforms.
