In an era that equates perfection with value, a collaboration that celebrates imperfection has emerged. TRADING MUSEUM COMME des GARÇONS and 99%IS- designer BAJOWOO have unveiled their second collaborative project, "THE POSiT1%VE." This marks a significant moment, as BAJOWOO is among the very few designers officially granted customization rights by Rei Kawakubo herself, underscoring his unique position in the fashion landscape.
Following last season's "ILLUMINATION," the new project comprises 437 pieces, including T-shirts, backpacks, and DIY customization parts. The collection carries the message that being true to yourself—imperfections and all—is the most positive way to exist. It represents a convergence of COMME des GARÇONS' avant-garde spirit and BAJOWOO's experimental approach. The iconic designs of BLACK COMME des GARÇONS are reimagined through BAJOWOO's deconstructive sensibility, pushing the boundaries of ready-to-wear into new, unexpected territories.
The collaboration will be available from July 25 to August 3, 2025, at TRADING MUSEUM COMME des GARÇONS locations in Omotesando and Midtown, Tokyo. This project reminds us that fashion is not merely about consuming finished products, but about the wearer's active participation in the completion process. By embracing imperfection as it is and transforming it into positive energy, this collaboration suggests a compelling direction for contemporary fashion.
