빨간 라피아 햇이 거대한 후광처럼 프레임을 채우고, 그 아래로 노란 눈물 메이크업과 글리터 입술이 렌즈를 똑바로 응시한다. 검은 레이스 톱은 붉은색 바탕 위로 기하학적 음영을 드리우며, 까만 손톱은 V자를 그리며 얼굴을 감싼다. 스마트폰 화면 너머로 피사체가 다시 한 번 비치는 메타적 구도는 관찰자와 관찰 대상의 경계를 허물고, 이 이미지를 단순한 초상이 아니라 시선의 게임으로 만든다. 오렌지 색조가 피부를 감싸는 클로즈업에서는 네이비와 브라운 도트가 이마와 볼, 입술 위로 흩뿌려져 마치 외계 언어처럼 얼굴을 점령한다. 손가락 끝의 오렌지 페인트와 블루 도트가 만드는 색의 충돌은 낯선 존재를 향한 호기심과 경계를 동시에 불러일으킨다. Kim Jung Hyeon, Hyun Jae Kim, Eun Ji Kim, Se Bin Baek이 함께 만든 이 비주얼은 타자에 대한 시선과 자아의 변형을 대담한 컬러와 상징적 메이크업으로 풀어낸 작업이다.

A vast red raffia hat haloes the frame like a celestial disc, beneath which yellow tear-track makeup and glitter-encrusted lips hold an unflinching stare. The black lace top casts geometric shadows against the crimson backdrop, while lacquered black nails frame the face in a deliberate V. A smartphone screen within the shot mirrors the subject again, collapsing the distance between observer and observed and transforming the portrait into a recursive game of gazes. In a warm orange-lit close-up, navy and brown dots scatter across forehead, cheek, and lip like an alien script colonising the skin. Orange-tipped fingers and blue dots create chromatic collision, evoking curiosity and caution towards the figure marked as other. Realised by Kim Jung Hyeon, Hyun Jae Kim, Eun Ji Kim, and Se Bin Baek, this May 2020 editorial interrogates strangeness through bold colour fields and symbolic beauty gestures that blur self and stranger.
