MY BEAST FRIEND

By PAP Magazine Editorial

Blue mist saturates the frame, reducing the figure to a silhouette crowned by a voluminous afro that spreads like soft cloud cover. Backlighting carves out the contours of a feathered garment, rendering it nearly translucent against the cool slate backdrop. The studio is dressed in grey-blue tones, interrupted only by skeletal branches and a single green leaf held in hand—nature intrudes on the synthetic. A black sheer off-shoulder top and graphic-printed trousers create contrast between skin and fabric, while a delicate gold pendant offers the only warm accent until an orange mini bag enters the composition. That pop of burnt orange disrupts the monochrome palette with deliberate force. This is a world built by K. Rodriguez, Jacek Gleba, Maruxa de Rivas Lis, Matías Callegari, Joel Izeon, Meseret, and Isla Management—a study in silhouette, texture, and controlled color temperature.
