This photo project intertwines childrens’ toys with reality by featuring my mother’s and her two sisters’ paper dolls’ outfits which they used to play with when they were little girls in the 60s, 70s and early 80s, and models between the age of 2 and 10. My aim when making this project was to make children’s imagina- tive worlds come to life by creating four different dolls that can be dressed with many different outfits. Fash- ion photography focuses mainly on the clothes and accessories worn by models, but this time I wanted
to create a fashion story where real clothes would be replaced by paper dolls’ outfits. This way, the audience can enter the playful sceneries and stories of children by looking at these dolls eventually creating an adver- tisement not only for the dolls but for a journey into children’s fantastic worlds.
